Geotechnical Surveys
Ground conditions can have a profound influence on the cost of a project and proper information is needed to enable meaningful cost estimates to be prepared. Our geotechnical investigation will normally include trial pits and in-situ tests and removing soil samples for subsequent laboratory examination as necessary. Such a programme of investigation will be aimed at determining drainage characteristics, frost resistance of the strata, the long-term stability of the site and any special chemical problems (Sulphate content, etc.)
With the benefit of these preliminary studies, we are able to prepare indicative layout drawings, showing any alternative arrangements for the various facilities that may be possible.
